Halloween Trick or Treat Bag

Re-Purposed T Shirt into a Halloween Trick or Treat Bag

Materials:

T Shirt (last year's Halloween Shirt)

Material in contrasting color

Instructions:

Lay out the shirt and cut both front and back into a rectangle. Smaller shirts will need an added piece sewn into the armpit area to make a large enough rectangle. I am showing you how to use a smaller size shirt because this size has an extra step. You will not need to add this piece if shirt is not large enough for a bag. Measure the length from the arm pit to the top of your rectangle. Cut two square piece this length. Fold squares corner to corner and cut into triangles. Sew longest side to replace arm pit forming shirt into a rectangle.

Cut a 21/2 strip from the contrasting material for sides and bottom, top band and handles. Starting with the front of the shirt sew strip to shirt side, bottom and side. Cut extra strip off and save for top band. Sew this same strip to back of shirt making the bag. Fold saved 21/2 strip into half and sew around the top making the top band. Using the same fabric make handles as long as you want and sew them to the bag.
