Back to School Artwork Books
Our Back to School idea this month is focused on saving all of our kid's artwork that comes home from school.
When my daughter started in an early education program. Every week the school would send home her artwork from her lessons. She was so proud of her work that she wanted to keep it.
As the school year went on I accumulated more and more piles of artwork. Her grandmother took her for a weekend of Scrapbooking. When she came home she brought with her a very cute binder that they had decorated and titled Kaylee's Artwork.
Inside the binder was the art they had created. This binder gave me an idea for the piles of artwork from school. I went and bought a couple of binders because at this point we had one full year and a second year had started.
I then went and bought a book of school Scrapbooking paper. Each year has a different back ground of paper.
Her first year is titled Kaylee's school year 2006-2007. The artwork that was 8 ½ X 11 was just inserted into clear plastic sheets the artwork that was much smaller was glued onto the paper picked for that year and then slide into the book.
We also went one step further and each book has its own month. Starting in August when school starts and ends in May to end her school year.
She loves looking through the books and see how much she has improved and what she was learning at that time. I have enjoyed these books because I no longer have a pile of wonderful artwork. I also enjoy see what letters and numbers she has learned and in what order they were learned so I can continue to help educate her.
We still continue to put the artwork she does at home in her original artwork book as well as adding more years to her schoolbook binders. When she gets older she can decide how important these items are to her and dispose of them at her will instead of mine. Author: Amber W
